We are thrilled to announce that the latest issue of “Galvanotecnica e Nuove Finiture” (Issue No. 3-2023) features extensive coverage of the MOZART Project and our groundbreaking research!
In the dedicated 8-page section, we take immense pride in sharing our own progress during the first year of the MOZART Project. Our primary objective is to eliminate the use of Hard Chromium (HC), which relies on Cr(VI), a toxic and carcinogenic substance. Instead, we are pioneering Nickel (Ni) matrix nanocomposite electroplating processes as an environmentally friendly and less toxic alternative.
The coatings developed through the MOZART Project are meticulously designed to be durable and long-lasting, providing a safer and more sustainable solution in line with the principles of Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD).
Another key highlight of the issue is the research presented by La Galvanica Trentina. They have been actively working on developing innovative techniques for the treatment of electroplating waste, which is a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
In addition, the paper written by Andrea Giaccherini from the University of Firenze, Claudio Zafferoni from STMicroelectronics, and Stefano Caporali from the University of Firenze focuses on the importance of multiphysics simulations for optimizing electroplating and electroforming processes. Their work has great potential in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of these processes.
Furthermore, Davide Rossi from MacDermid Enthone shares some exciting insights into eco-friendly electroplating and finishing solutions in the precious metals sector. It is encouraging to witness industry players actively contributing to a more sustainable approach.
We extend our gratitude to the contributors and supporters who have made the MOZART Project a remarkable success so far. Together, we are driving towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for the electroplating industry.
This issue will be available for free until the 15th of October. Afterwards it will be accessible on the page www.galvanotecnica.org/it/magazine to members and registered users. Registration is free!
